We were very impressed by MBA Roofing Services from the beginning. They had been recommended to us by a friend, and we were not disappointed. They were friendly and helpful and replied immediately to our inquiries, providing a detailed breakdown of the work needed and a list of prices, which were very reasonable. They commenced the work on the agreed date, working late until the job was completed. They even carried out a job that had not been budgeted for at no extra cost. Upon completion, they cleaned up thoroughly, and even provided us with detailed photos of the roof before and after. We would certainly recommend this firm to anybody.

The guys replaced the rotten rafters around the chimney which was damaged by the recent bad weather. Very responsive team who dealt with the issue promptly preventing significant further damage. The team also took the initiative and advised me and addressed on other areas of concern in the future with no fuss. Area left clean and tidy. Very Happy & Thank you

Fully replaced a knackered leaking old pitched tiled roof with box gutter. Great work and the roof involved removing and retiling, felting, and brickwork to shore up a dangerously unsupported chimney breast. They also used a rubber paint to seal the back roof of an extension that was also leaking. It took them a while to start because of unseasonal rain slowing down jobs – but once they started they completed the work to time (all within two weeks!). All the many skilled tradesmen they sent were polite and considerate. No hidden costs – no overruns – no waiting for materials. Honest people doing honest work. Great experience – highly recommend!!! Good job Darren and team – thank you!!

So we have a new roof. It looks beautiful and will last us a lifetime. Daren’s crew have done a magnificent job. Right from the start I felt that our cooperation would yield a nice result. Everything seemed right: the estimate, the communication and then the work itself. It wasn’t just about putting the tiles on top of our house. Daren’s crew were thorough, punctual and tidy. They were as polite as they were funny. I know it is not a part of a deal, but we’ve had plenty of nice conversations and shared many a cup of tea. I appreciate when the job at hand is something more than just work done and money paid. Nothing was too difficult for them. They were patient and followed on with suggestions and little requests. Lastly, I would like mention Daren himself for his professionalism and advice. We have a nice new roof, but dealing with him was equally nice and has left a lasting impression. Nunhead roofing are a first class company to deal with. Great communication from the start and the work completed to a very high standard. Tony put the scaffolding went up very quickly and it was gone a few days after the roof was completed by Mark. All the rubbish was cleared as the job progressed and the site left clean. This was a full roof of tiles, timbers, gutters, firewalls and coping stones. Very happy customer, and I’d certainly recommend this company

Nunhead Roofing replaced the entire roof tiles on our house. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and we have recommended them to friends and a neighbour. From the outset Mark was quick to answer emails and he provided good advice and explanations of the work required. He provided a detailed quote speedily and was generally a pleasure to deal with. Work started on time and was completed well ahead of time, with Mark turning up to site early every day. Everything ran really smoothly, was done properly and completed to a very high standard. Very impressed.

Generous two stars… because they did show up on time for a quote on a 5-figure job, and they did reply to my emails in a timely manner.
Some other roofers spent 30min with me, going through all the work and explaining everything nicely, but Chris Ball & team literally spent 2 minutes with me! As you can guess the quote was missing a few items that we discussed, and some other items they didn’t notice but were highlighted to me later by other roofers. Disappointing.
If you’re not interested in a job because it’s too small for you or you’re too busy, no problem! Just say it straight away and don’t waste my time – and yours. Nothing wrong with declining a job!

Didn’t carry out the majority of work agreed but invoiced for all of it. Very aggressive about getting money. Very rude staff who values money above all else. No integrity. Would never use again if they were the last roofing company in London. Avoid like the plague. Would give no stars it I could that would be overly generous

Horncastle & Sons replaced an extremely old section of zinc roofing which had been letting in water with lead. The work was completed quickly and at the quoted price. The whole team was extremely friendly and polite, keeping us up to date along the way. The roof has proved watertight following more recent heavy rain! We are very pleased with the work.

Awful company who should not be trusted or contracted to complete any work.

Following a small leak in my flat due to blocked guttering, I hired Horncastle to clean the gutters. Horncastle previously worked on my roof and have known the property for 10+ years, and I therefore contracted them for the cleaning despite the extremely high cost of £430. When they attended, their staff acknowledged the building’s gutters are shared with next door, and the cost should be split. Their employee spent no more than 15 minutes cleaning the gutters, and led me to believe the full work was completed and the issue would not reoccur. A few days later, while I was on holiday (which they knew I would be going on), a huge leak reoccured in my property, affecting the flats downstairs and severely damaging my walls. If the property was vacant as they expected it to be, the floor would have likely collapsed. When asked to make good on their incomplete job, Horncastle initially refused until forced to when their liability was demonstrated. It then transpired that they failed to clean the other side of the guttering, despite knowing they were connected and a blockage on either side would cause a leak to reoccur. In the month since, Horncastle have refused to make good and pay for any of the damage caused by their dereliction, and instead have been attempting to avoid responsibility for failing to complete the job they were hired to do.

I have since contracted another company to regularly clean the gutters, who have stated it’s an easy job, and will only charge £160 to clean all parts of the gutters affecting my property. They were in complete shock Horncastle charged so much for an incomplete job knowing the damage their inaction would cause.

Save yourself the money and property damage and find another roofing company!

Very professional business . All Horncastle Sons and employees Fair, Honest and True.
Jeff and Jay did a first class Flat roof refurbishment on our loft extension , Ridge Tiles and Hips . Guttering renewed
Chimney repointed and new Pots reseated . 2 small flat roofs in good condition given 2 coats of Solar paint and associated minor repairs to bring whole roof onto good condition .
Jamie estimated from the ground as closely as possible . He was punctual with good communication and did what he said . There was some extra work required when extensive scaffolding erected . I was able to go up scaffolding to see what was needed and review work in progress. My due diligence on choosing a professional company paid off . Photos provided for estimate and when completed . Quote was one of the most expensive however so are Mercedes and BMW cars. You get what you pay for and a great guarantee.

Very professional. Our flat roof had a small leak, they took the time to explain to my elderly mum what they would do to and arranged a suitable date. They were quick and tidy and the roof doesn’t leak. Mum felt very comfortable having them working on her house. I would totally recommend them – we are having them back to sort the leaky gutters.

Very pleased that we appointed Martin to undertake our gutter and roof repairs. He’s a really genuine guy who is passionate about his trade and takes pride in his work. Access to assess the roof was difficult, but Martin gave us a worst-case quote, and reassessed as soon as he was up there so we only paid for the work that needed doing. Communication with us was great and he kept us informed of progress throughout. We are really pleased with the high quality of workmanship and would 100% recommend MB Roofing Services.

I can’t speak more highly of the job Martin and his team did on my guttering and roof. Talk about going above and beyond! They worked extremely hard in (ridiculously hot weather) and the standard of their work is really impressive. I’ve found Steve’s YouTube videos very helpful in helping me understand some issues we’ve had with our flat roof. I asked Steve to look at photos of the roof taken during construction and he gave me an in-depth analysis which has been very enlightening. Steve really knows his trade and I get the feeling he enjoys solving problems and helping people. Next step will be to bring him all the way out to Buckinghamshire which I know is well outside his normal territory! A true professional, highly recommended!

Mr Steve Dickinson went above and beyond, to give professional advice on how to convert an uninsulated kitchen flat felt roof to a warm EPDM covered roof. The project was no where near his company’s working area so would be of no economic value to himself, and yet he still followed up my query. He did this by making a video out of photo’s I’d sent him explaining both the theory and the actual practical means to action the process. A great chap who wouldn’t accept anything in return for his time and assistance. He is a craftsman who wants to genuinely improve the quality of his profession. Thank you again we need more people like him.

After watching Steve’s very knowledgeable YouTube Videos about Flat Roofs and potential issues, I decided to try and contact him for advice. The fact I was at the other side of the country and unable to use Steve to do my work I thought maybe he would be reluctant to speak to me. However, to my surprise he answered the call and explained he was in a loft carrying out a roof survey, but if I call him back in 20 minutes he will gladly have a chat with me. I called him and he was fantastic and very very friendly and willing to help and offer his advise. I was very grateful for his time and even more so when he isn’t actually able to do my work. Despite this Steve was a true gent and is clearly passionate about what he does. I am very grateful to Steve for giving me the time of day, in fact he explained everything in great detail. Fantastic guy and I would 100% recommend anybody to use Steve wherever possible. Thanks Steve for your help and time. Very grateful. ??

Excellent service from Steve. Very knowledgeable man who really cares about the quality of his work and will always advice the right way to do something vs the cheapest. Roofs can be very problematic if not done right so ho hesitation in recommending this company. Check Steve’s videos on line which are proof of the experience and care they take in their jobs. Really helpful and efficient company. Our roof was damaged with several tiles missing however, due to the type of roof we had, not all companies could help. Capital roofing were able to come out within 24 hours and inspect the roof, we were given a same day quote and work started that same week.

We were so pleased with their response time and the professionalism of the men involved. A huge thank you to Terry for his patience with our ‘keen to help’ 4 year old too!

During this last lockdown there were storms and the rain started to come in through my bedroom ceiling. Searched the internet found LF Roofing Services. Louis came and looked at the problem, gave me a quote, that I accepted, and he did the work.

We had a number of highly technical issues with our roof that had accumulated over the years: failing guttering, bad ventilation boxes, missing slate rivots, damaged slates, degraded chimney stack, and rotten soffit and fascia boarding to name a few. John was extremely flexible with his work, identifying issues and working to a high standard of quality throughout the job. His communication is excellent, always available to discuss details and kept me updated on progress. He also managed the scaffolding on our large building, and ensured it went up and came down quickly. The work was completed on schedule, the rates were good value, and John’s team were friendly and hard working throughout. I highly recommend McVeighs for any roofing project, and will be returning to him in the future.
